Barry Dark serves as CEO for Legility and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations and growth strategy. He guides the leadership team to continually innovate and improve Legility's legal services.
Barry has extensive executive leadership background in financial technology and legal operations, building high-performance teams and leading businesses focused on technology-based services, outsourcing, enterprise software, and consulting. Having spent half his career outside the US, he has global experience in business operations, strategic planning, and corporate development roles.
Barry joined Legility in 2017.
Alison Watts brings more than 20 years of experience in financial management and strategy to her role at Legility. As CFO, she is responsible for managing the financial activities of Legility and focuses on business planning, strategy, and compliance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Belmont University and an MBA with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Tampa.
Alison joined Legility in 2015.
Mona Maerz joined the Legility team in 2014. She serves as the company’s General Counsel, and co-leads the Legility’s Enterprise Legal Solutions (ELS) business unit, where she is a trusted advisor and strategic business partner to the Legility community to deliver practical and effective solutions for complex legal problems, with a focus on legal operations.
Mona started her career in the U.S. at Jones Day and is a 20-year legal industry veteran with substantial M&A, real estate, and commercial contract experience in major law firms as well as in-house. She is bilingual and admitted to the practice of law in both Germany and in multiple states in the U.S. In addition to her German law degree, Mona holds a J.D from Georgia State University College of Law and an LL.M. from University of Georgia School of Law.
Paul Mankoo joined the Legility team in 2009. He leads the organization’s operations in EMEA. In his role, Paul is responsible for all of the company’s operations outside North America, and he also leads the eDiscovery managed services business globally. Paul has more than 25 years of entrepreneurial experience within the legal and corporate markets with a focus on technology enabled outsourcing. He has founded four successful companies and has been involved in nine divestments. Paul holds a B.A. Honors degree in business studies and information technology From the University of West London.
Patty Wise provides executive oversight to Legility’s flexible talent business unit, where she is responsible for driving organic growth and architecting bespoke flexible legal talent programs to help clients solve unique legal challenges. Since 2008, she has partnered with Legility clients to provide the right legal talent to build resilient legal organizations across industries, practice areas, and geographies. Prior to joining Legility, Patty practiced law with Troutman Sanders in Atlanta and Kennedy Covington in Charlotte (now K&L Gates). She holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University, where she was awarded the Junius L. Allison Award, given for the most significant contribution to the Legal Aid Society, and a B.A. from Emory University.
John Burchfield joined Legility in 2011 and heads up North American eDiscovery operations. John’s responsibilities include strategic leadership and oversight of all eDiscovery services in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to joining Legility, John served as General Manager for XMC Xerox. He has more than 25 years of experience in leadership and business development, primarily within the document management industry for companies like IKON and Xerox. John is a commonly requested speaker for national events, and has authored multiple articles and eBooks, including eDiscovery Pricing Models and How to Create an Awesome Company Culture, and has also been featured in national publications like Legaltech News and Recruiter.
Richard Stout joined the Legility corporate team in 2007 and led the initiative to create the North American managed review division as its Executive Director. Two years before joining the Legility corporate team, Richard had worked through Legility on long-term assignments for senior legal counsel of two Fortune 100 companies. Prior to that, Richard served as COO for a Nashville startup company. Richard began his legal career as a commercial litigation attorney for the law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, & Caldwell PC, and then later with Colbert and Winstead, PLLC.
Richard holds a J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas, and is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and the District of Columbia. Richard holds an undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. Richard has certifications from the Scrum Alliance as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and is a Certified Scrum@Scale Practitioner (CSaSP).
Eric Schultenover joined Legility in 2011, and co-leads Legility’s Enterprise Legal Solutions (ELS) division, offering integrated services ranging from M&A, compliance project management and support to contract review and negotiation, and litigation management solutions. Previously, he was a partner at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP, practicing in corporate restructuring and finance, with extensive experience in the automotive and health care industries. He holds a J.D. from Washington University School of Law, where he was Order of the Coif and recipient of the David M. Becker Scholarship. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame (B.A.).
Lisa Lemke leads Legility's Talent organization as well as the Atlanta market. As head of Talent, Lisa enriches the lives of thousands of talented lawyers all over the world by helping them forge new career paths - while solving complex legal challenges for Legility clients. As the head of Atlanta, Lisa coordinates all company activities in the market. With a reputation for understanding clients’ needs and a deep knowledge of Legility’s solutions, Lisa is a trusted advisor to the businesses and lawyers in the Legility community. Prior to joining Legility in 2004, Lisa practiced law as a labor and employment law associate at Troutman Sanders and Jackson Lewis. She holds both a J.D., cum laude, and a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
As the head of IT Operations, Information Security, and Compliance for Legility, Toni Mohorek is responsible for defining and shaping Legility IT operations and the design and implementation of information security initiatives on a global scale. She defines and ensures the performance of critical information security strategies, and oversees the organization’s global risk management and compliance programs. Toni is a certified ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and specializes in information security management systems (ISMS) based on the ISO/IEC 27001 standard and ISO/IEC 19011.
Prior to joining Legility, Toni served as the technical support supervisor at Winston & Strawn LLP for more than 12 years. While at Winston & Strawn LLP she was responsible for the development and leadership of the technical support and network operations staff.
Rob Jefferis is responsible for Legility's global IT infrastructure, including overseeing technical and environmental design across Legility’s international network. He leads a team responsible for implementing security controls to protect critical client data and finding innovative ways to leverage IT resources for eDiscovery systems. Prior to joining Legility in 2009, he worked in the information technology and software industry for over a decade, specializing in storage and Microsoft server technologies.
Sarah Brown leads marketing globally at Legility, responsible for leading a talented and creative team focused on Legility’s worldwide brand, digital presence, advertising, public relations, and thought leadership programs. Prior to joining Legility in 2019, Sarah led corporate marketing and communications at Epiq. Prior to Epiq, she led marketing communications at Exterro, where she founded and led their content-driven marketing organization. Sarah is a former journalist; prior to her career in legal services, she was a reporter, editor, and director at international print, online, and television news organizations. She holds a master’s degree in strategic communications from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Southern Oregon University.
Mike Murphy is responsible for leading and directing the management of the sales organization in North America. Mike is an industry veteran with deep experience leading enterprise technology teams. Prior to joining Legility, he held business development and leadership positions at Cisco, LexisNexis, and FTI Consulting. He has deep legal experience, and practiced as a litigation attorney after graduating with a JD from the University of Alabama School of Law. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Auburn University.
Kathy Medlin brings over 30 years of human resources and organizational development experience in the B2B space to her role leading the HR function at Legility. She provides strategic people-related solutions and services to all of Legility’s lines of business across the global enterprise. Prior to joining Legility, she led organizational development at Comdata, a leading payment processor. Earlier roles provided Kathy with a strong foundational background as a talent partner and culture leader, including employee engagement, and leadership and employee development. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.
